Well above is the Casa 212. Wen the back ramp was opened after take-off, guess what we saw? Well maybe a couple of 100 m behind us was an Albatros. It took everybody a few seconds to just pinch themselves since we did not expect to see that. And after the Albatros left use we had the opportunity to shoot the Vampire over Rietvlei nature reserve, over centurion and over Zwartkops Airforce base. Amazing, Amazing, Amazing !!!. After we landed and we got out of the plane, I realised that I was still shaking from excitement. This has to go down as one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever in my life had. But having said that, and realising I would do it again in the blink of an eye if I get the opportunity, I also realise how Privileged we were to be part of this experience. So to everybody at the SAAFM camera club that help to make this dream a reality. THANK YOU !!!
It was hot, the plane was small and uncomfortable, but the blue skies were calling. And 14 of the SAAFM club members got the opportunity to fly with the South African Airforce in a CASA212 during the SAAFM fly day on 3 December 2011. I was lucky to be one of the fortunate group.
